ink Oh boy. Another season has ended and this one ended with a bang, er bling. What a killer rock! Love that Chopard. Love that Dr. Andy gets it for free. The producers did a good job of confusing us about whether he would go for Tessa - who plays hard to get, or Bevan - who lays it all out on the table. I felt so bad for Bevan when she got dumped. I don't think I would have been quite as composed. Words of anger would have poured from my mouth, especially since he told her that he loved her just the day before. SO WRONG! Guys suck sometimes. I knew he was into Tessa all along and I just don't understand why these guys string along the one girl who IS really into them and ultimately will suffer the most. But they do and she is and it sucks. Maybe she'll be the next Bachelorette and her luck will change.
I am convinced that Dr. McShippy is someone who looks good on paper and was looking for a girl like that. Tessa got her master's at Columbia, is smart and driven, is also into triathalons, etc. I think he chose her b/c she was "sophisticated" and fit his Norman Rockwall idea of what the perfect wife would be. But women like that tend to also be independent and focused on their own career and life. And with his Navy obligation, he'll be tucked away on a submarine a lot, will move constantly, and likely will wear the pants. For Tessa, it'll be a lonely life. Someone like Andy really needs a girl who would be happy to just be a wife and mother. Not sure she is that type. I watched them on the View this morning. Joy Behar asked why they would make it when so many couples from the show break up and they both kind of paused. He said that they will have to fall in love all over again b/c it's been so long since they've been together. I think that's why so many of them don't work out. They shoot the show in like 3-4 weeks, then can't see each other for months. Then he said that the ring on her finger is a symbol of the commitment they made. But then Tessa said "we're taking things one step at a time" when pressed for a wedding date and plan. She said she is moving to Hawaii. She sounds more cautious, as is to be expected.
I just keep going back to my original thought: If he's such a great catch, why was he still single? There's plenty of nice girls in Hawaii or San Francisco (where he went to med school) or San Diego (where he did his residency). He's conservative + he's in the military = he needs a "little lady," but the overachiever in him wants the worldy, sophisticated, independent girl. So the question is will Tessa be willing to take a back seat to his career and its demands? Andy kept saying that he had to work so hard to get her and I have a feeling he will have to work even harder to keep her. At least both of them will get a nice tan in the process.
