The homefry dates went about as expected this week. I think it's getting harder and harder for the producers to add drama to the conclusion of this season since Andy has basically admitted that he is more into Tessa than the others. By stating that he wouldn't leave DC without knowing where her heart lies, he told us what we need to know. And he totally tried to get as much info from her friends and family as they did from him. That can mean only one thing: she's the winner folks.
In my humble opinion, this season is really about how far he can string the other girls on. I think he's basically been relegated to behave like many other suitors. He's keeping the other two around as backups (and of course b/c he HAS TO according to the formula for the show). But it's not just about show concepts... I do believe that If Tessa had told him that she was still iffy he would have dumped her and pursued things with Bevan. A man's ego can only lay in the balance for so long... especially one as large as Dr. Naval Officer's.
So what I'm now expecting is more of what we saw this week from Amber.... incredibly heart broken sobbing when the gauntlet falls. I mean, Beven is going to SH** her pants when she gets cut, especially after revealing her "secret" that wasn't even that big of a deal. But still, she AND her dad were crying about Dr. Andy. Goodness! Something I will never see my dad do... cry over a man. Hahahaha. Anyway, the other girl (whose name is escaping me) obviously is into him as well. But she is sort of lacking any real fire or intensity, unlike that ginormous rock they showed in the previews for the next few shows. Did you get a look at that bling? I'm guessing it's a cushion cut stone, since that appears to be all the rage right now (Tiffany just released their own version). Maybe I need to loan my future fiance out to the Bachelor so that he can score me some killer karats. I promise I can keep it hush hush that he's already spoken for. :-)
Poor poor Amber. She is right to not understand. But once again I remind our contestants that this is a reality show and it has been done so many times before. How can you not keep some level of suspicion until the final final rose is given? (Reason #14,257 that I would never be cast in this show: I'm too pessimistic.) This coming week, there will only more of the same. Shock and awe and tears and smeared mascara. And yet, I predict that the most skeptical of them all (and the one who likely wouldn't freak if she got cut) will get the proposal.
Today's lesson boys and girls is that confidence wins. I don't just say this to be trite. Andy really locked and loaded onto Tessa when she was thinking of leaving the show because it wasn't her cup of tea to compete with other girls. He likes that. Now why in the world he is so hung up on her in general is a huge mystery to me. I don't get it. I like her. She's nice enough. Cute, normal, etc. But if I were the guy in this situation I think I would gravitate to what's going on with Bevan. Then again I am not an incredibly competitive Type A emotionally sensitive yet highly resistant to adversity type of person like Andy. Ok I am. But I'm definitely not a guy. You can't challenge me on that one.
